Dusty loves people so much that he wants to jump up on them - it's not his fault, he probably was a kennel favorite! He is very loving, but he will need to be in obedience so he can learn other ways to show his affection. He is not cat safe, but he is one lovable boy. Although it isn't required, Dusty would really love a fenced yard (he really enjoys the opportunity to get out and stretch his legs for a few minutes). He loves toys and he is very responsive to people and the love that we offer. Black dogs are so often overlooked at greyhound kennels, won't you consider this happy big boy?

Got milk? Ellie is a darling black and white "cow dog." She is on the small side for a female and is an affectionate and cuddly little girl. She is tolerant, easy to handle and likes to lean. She would do well in a moderately active home with people of all ages.

Liberty is very sweet and very calm. She loves to lay her head in your lap in order to get some scritches, and then she goes to lay down. At a recent meet and greet, she had no problems with all the commotion around her, and even laid down to take a nap! She likes toys as well - but is very lady-like with them - settling down and then delicately nibbling on it!

Turbo is a great dog for all ages. He is tolerant, friendly and outgoing and easy to handle. Turbo LOVES toys. He will even carry one around with him, if you let him - but he will let go when asked! Turbo walks nicely on a leash, and will lean against you if you rub his ears. His coat has been described by one volunteer as "soft, black velvet." He is moderately active and would make a good meet and greeter.

Polar is a very friendly active boy who especially likes kids. He is vocal in his crate, so a single-family home would be best for this boy. He likes toys and has good manners when playing with them. Polar would love a fenced yard, and maybe a sandbox he can bury his toys in! He is a very funny, sweet boy!

Sharla is a very happy, affectionate girl who loves to play and have a good time. She has a tendency to jump, so would probably do best with older children. This girl has a lot of energy and would do best in a lively home. Sharla walks beautifully on a leash, as well! We're told she is a smiler!

Valance is a happy, active boy who is friendly and personable. He likes toys, as well. His looks are stunning, with a white patch on his chest and just a dash of white on his nose. He walks nicely on a leash, though he can be a bit strong.

Pansy is an adorable, playful girl who is very lively and outgoing! She loves having some room to run, so a fenced yard might be a plus for this young girl. She also would benefit from some regular walking on a leash, as she's not really that good at it - practice makes perfect! Pansy is an absolute cutie pie who might be good for a family with older children, as well!

Eli is a very happy, squiggly, bouncy boy who loves to romp and play! He may be a good choice for an active family with some older kids to tire him out! At just two years of age, Eli has energy to burn - he'd benefit from a fenced yard to play in, as well as some obedience classes to help him work on his manners. While we're not 100% sure, we think Eli may have been named after a certain cheesecake company - he's certainly got the coloring right! He is a beautiful, sweet boy who will make a nice, active companion for someone.

Eli is blooming in foster care, where he's really calmed down nicely (for a two-year old!). He's currently in foster with cats, kids and other greys. He loves to snuggle on the couch, and is a very nice, playful boy!

Fred is a very sweet boy who is recently available for adoption through no fault of his own. Fred recently relocated to Illinois from California. Very shortly after arriving, his owner's new home burned down, and his owner made the difficult decision to sign his dog over to Greyhounds Only so we could find him a new home. Fred is a very nice boy who has excellent house manners. He is not small dog or cat safe. He absolutely loves attention and going for walks - a true gentleman of a greyhound who has a lot of living left to do.

Ollie was a consistent grade A and stakes racer, who broke his leg in a race last June. He had orthopedic surgery, and now recovered, he is ready to enjoy a well deserved retirement. Ollie is an easy-going boy, with the confidence and attentiveness you would admire in a top runner. At home, he is a calm and mellow boy, who gets along with all the other hounds. He crates well, is practicing his leash walking, and getting better at it every day. Ollie is now ready to be a Grade A couch potato, and this exceptionally handsome, stunning boy could easily fit in any home situation. Ollie is an affectionate boy, who has mastered the greyhound "lean." He seems to be a real optimist, eagerly and expressively looking forward to whatever comes his way.

This little girl has ears that remind us of a doberman. They stand erect at all times. She is a busy, curious and easy to handle young girl. She seems to get along with other dogs and is cat tolerant as well. She is a good size for someone looking for a smaller girl.

Handsome young Hank is having so much fun in his foster home! After a long recovery from a broken leg, and severely restricted activity in "rehab", he's free to do so many new things. He does the stairs with no problem, loves to play with his foster dad, and enjoys watching the fish in the aquarium; he finds the birds interesting too, but leaves them alone. Hank settled right in at home with some older greyhounds, and although he is the "baby" he treats his grey friends with respect, and is content to share doggy beds and cookies. He is practicing leash walking to help him get over a bit of a residual limp from his broken leg, but with exercise and play, that will soon go away. This intelligent boy had no problem quickly learning, and showing, excellent house manners. Hank will be a terrific member of any household, and if you are looking for a bright and happy friend, please meet Hank!

P.S. Hank had the best Thanksgiving ever! He spent the holiday with lots of company - and got to play all day with 12 kids, ages 3 and up -- how much fun can a young greyhound have? This boy will be fantastic with an active family.

Casio is a beautiful, sweet, and loveable girl eager to move from medical rehab to her forever home. She suffered a front leg break two months ago, and has had an outstanding surgical repair of the break - an excellent outcome. Casio is good in her crate, and has terrific house manners. She is energetic, playful, and affectionate. Casio has her best grey girl friends in foster care, and they are fun loving playmates, who keep their foster mom and dad entertained with their antics and games. Casio is ready to meet her family, and you will certainly enjoy meeting this happy little girl.

Danny is a beautiful, light brindle male. He is relaxed and walks well on a leash. He would do best in a moderately active home.

Holland was recently retired from racing and slated to become a breeder. Her owner decided that she deserves to retire in a loving home instead. This girl is an expert cuddler. In fact, when the kennel volunteers squatted down, she not only buried her head in their necks, but wrapped her leg around their leg to be sure they wouldn't go away before she was done snuggling. If hugging isn't enough, she also gives kisses. Her tail was shortened due to a case of happy tail, but she wags it anyway. This is one darling little girl who deserves all the love she willingly gives.

Looking for someone to cuddle with in front of the fire or to keep you warm at night? Doodle may be the perfect girl for you! She is easy to handle and seems to have a moderate activity level. Doodle is related to Kuala, a recent GO adoptee.

Jean would do best as an only hound or with a mellow male. She's not one to share the spotlight with another female. She's friendly and outgoing, walks well on a leash and is moderately active.

Greer is a busy little girl who is absolutely adorable. She can be a little mischevious, but is so adorable, you can't help but forgive her for it! She would probably be good with a family of all ages, as she's tolerant and really quite gentle. She also walks nicely on a leash! Greer has been diagnosed with pannus in her left eye. She is on medication (eye drops) to treat this and will need to be treated for it for the remainder of her life.

Although he's "just a brindle," Charlie's markings are really beautiful and quite unique. He's a moderately active guy who will need some leash work and probably could benefit from obedience classes. He was not easy to get back in the crate after he was out socializing with the kennel volunteers - but really, can you blame him? Scratches and lovin'-on is so much better than crate time! Charlie would do best with an owner who has previous large dog experience.

Don't let the bald butt and belly turn you off--she also has the cutest overbite! Fantasy would do best with children over the age of 5 in a calm household. She is easy to handle, gentle, walks well on a leash and is cat tolerant to boot!

Little Miss Phoebe was quite a favorite among the kennel volunteers. She was quite happy to just hang out with us on kennel day and soak up the attention that was lavished on her. She is happy, friendly and outgoing and seems to be moderately active.

This girl is a greyhound in a whippet-sized body. She's the perfect size to curl up next to you on the couch under a blanket while you read or watch TV. For a young girl, she seems to have a low activity level and would do best in a home where she would get the opportunity to socialize on her own terms.

Skippy is a tolerant and gentle hound who walks well on a leash and is easy to handle. He seems to be the typical mellow fellow and would do well in just about any situation.

Bonanza is one happy little girl. Perhaps she's just relieved to finally be in Wisconsin after traveling all the way from Florida! She's friendly, outgoing and easy to handle and walks well on a leash. She appears to have a low to moderate activity level. We also should mention that she's a smiler when she's talked to!

Despite the fact that this girl just arrived from Florida in the middle of a winter storm, Reign seemed to be quite at home in Wisconsin. She is gentle, tolerant and easy to handle. She would do best in a moderately active home.

We don't even want to use the word "handsome" - Jester is just flat out gorgeous! He's relaxed, gentle and tolerant and would do well just about anywhere.

Larry is a relaxed, easy to handle and gentle boy who would probably do best in a quiet and calm atmosphere. He walks well on leash and would do well anywhere.

Kansas is a very happy boy - his tail is always wagging and he loves playing with toys. He is very sweet and an excellent AmbassaDog - always willing to give some kisses and lots of tail wags!

Kennedy is a very sweet two year old who is ready to find his forever home! He is living comfortably with 3 cats and several Greyhounds for the past 2+ months, but he can be pushy in the yard (competitive running). Kennedy does like to steal toys from other hounds, so he'd be best as an only dog or with another dog who just doesn't care about toys. He is excellent with children of all ages and he is a pro with stairs, not to mention how nicely he walks on lead! He absolutely loves people. He is very confident yet he has paper thin feelings. He took a long time to house break, but he is 90% house broken (occasional accidents in his crate). He loves toys and sometimes will pick up one of the children's toys thinking it is for him. He will drop anything as soon as he is verbally corrected. He is a young 2 year old that loves life and squeaky toys! He has a very sweet nature, and would love to be your New Year's Baby! The rest of Kennedy's siblings (Carter, Flower, Pockets, Crown and Karat!) have all been adopted, and he's ready to find his forever home too!

Sophie is a really cute, cuddly little girl. Her neck is so small, that the martingale collar at its smallest was still too big! She likes toys, gives kisses and will need some work to deter her interest in counter-surfing. She corrected easily, however, because a loud "no" hurt her feelings. Given time, we think she'll come out of her shell and be a really sweet, spunky little girl.

Peach has the most unusual coloring. Her fur is a really pale fawn which makes her dark mask even more striking. She was a little nervous during our evaluation and plastered herself against the legs of a kennel volunteer. However, food makes her really happy and her tail wagged the whole time we were feeding her pieces of kibble. Her likes are ear rubs and affection; her dislike is slippery tile floors. She really showed no interest in playing with toys.

Tonya was a young top stakes and Grade A racer when she broke her front leg in early November. She had orthopedic surgery and has had an outstanding, quick recovery. She is ready for her forever home. Tonya is one of our "perfect" girls: sweet, gentle, happy, easy, and loving, everything you could want in a lovely greyhound companion. She is best friends with all the oher greyhounds in her foster home, and will be a truly wonderful family member in just about any situation.

Lulu is a 4 year old female who never raced. She is delightful, full of sass and sweetness. She is a quick learner and has adapted easily to her foster mom's household. She is a bit of a scamp and has begun to wag her tail. She is very affectionate and will steal your heart. Lulu was returned to GO through no fault of her own, and is ready to find her forever family!
