Lilly is a loveable, affectionate little girl. She has excellent house manners and crates well. She is tolerant, gentle, and should be able to live with people of all ages. Lilly loves to go out for walks and has lots of youthful energy - she might even be a good jogging companion! She likes the company of other hounds and would be a good second hound, but would also do fine as an only hound.

Lilly has only been with us for a few days, but she has settled in like an old pro. She is quiet and well behaved in the house; she crates easily and likes to hang out in her crate, and she will go in her crate and wait for her breakfast and dinner. She sleeps quietly through the night and has learned the routines of the house quickly. She has been perfectly housebroken - no accidents! When she first walked into our apartment, she put her paws up on the kitchen counter to check out what was in the sink, and she jumped up on both couches - but since being told not to do any of that again, she hasn't. She responds to her name and will come when you call her. Lily is very sweet and tolerant, and she gets along very well with our hound - they even shared a drink from the waterbowl the other day. She shows zero aggression or defensiveness. While being low-key in the house, Lilly gets very excited when it is time to go out  - she loves her walks! However, she can be strong on the leash, which seems to be partially due to her youthful energy and partially due to a bit of heightened alertness in unfamiliar settings. Every day that we've had her she has settled down more and more, and now she seems to only pull in the beginning of walks, walking nicely on your right side the rest of the time. Though Lilly tested cat tolerant and has been well-behaved when meeting other dogs big and small on our walks, she would dearly love to chase squirrels, so she will need to work on mastering this impulse. Walking her in a harness helps a lot, and she is getting better every day. Her coat is very soft and shiny, and will only get more so as a pampered pet. Lilly is a wonderful little girl who will be an easy addition to any family!

We can now report that thunderstorms don't seem to faze Lilly in the least! She continues to be an excellent houseguest, abiding by the no-jumping-on-counters-or-furniture rule without any trouble. She likes treats but isn't overly attracted to people food, and so doesn't beg or try to sneak bites off your plate during mealtimes. Her crate is one of her favorite places to hang out during the day, and when you arrive home she will wait calmly in it until you let her out. She loves having her ears rubbed and will give big, enthusiastic kisses in thanks!

Lilly also rides well in the car, and will hop up in on command.
