Come join all the greyhounds and their humans at the 17th annual GO Reunion, now renamed to RAVE!
The DuPage County Fairgrounds is approximately 4 times the size of the venue we used in years past. There is parking for over 900 cars and there are hook-ups for your RV, should you want to camp out. There will be silent and live auctions, memorial basket auction, 50/50 raffle and the popular bag raffles. For the second year in a row we will also feature the "Radar Run". This year we will have a "gently used" section where you can purchase gently used items, such as crates, beds, collars and other items.
Donations are being accepted for all aspects of the reunion, such as:
- new items for the bag raffle, live and silent auctions
- gently used items (collars, coats, leashes, beds, bowls, collars and anything else associated with the hounds)
- monetary donations to support the new venue (sponsorships available)
Hundreds of Greyhounds attend this event each year. Please remember that the environment is such that there is a lot of interaction between the hounds. It is wise to have them up to date on all their shots, heart worm meds, flea prevention and bordetella.
The Greyhounds Only Reunion will be hosting a Memorial Silent Auction. The Memorial Auction is an opportunity for those who have lost hounds or other Heart dogs to honor them.
Here is how it works...
If you want to honor your departed hound you can put together a memorial basket/gift bag. It can contain whatever you want to include. No minimum/no maximum - the contents are up to you. On the container you want to hang a card with a photo of your hound and a brief story or memory about them. Please contact Chad Pierson at
Auction and Raffle items are being added each week it seems!! Here are some that we are REALLY excited about:
A BEAUTIFUL, handmade, greyhound-themed quilt is just one of our "special" raffle items. This quilt has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated but pictures will be available on the GO website as well as the RAVE and GO Facebook pages!
Also available as a "special" raffle item is a gorgeous stained glass panel featuring a brindle greyhound! Be sure to show your love for the brindle babies by purchasing your raffle tickets for this item!
Since they are so special, these items will not be included in the general bag raffle area but will have their own special tickets that will be purchased at a slightly higher price than for the bag raffle. $5 per raffle ticket is all it may cost you to own something that many of us could only dream of having in our house!
The collected auction items will be put on Silent Auction tables for the day of the event. Each will have a bid sheet next to it where you can bid on the basket(s) you are interested in. The Silent Auction bids will close at 2:45. You do not have to attend the reunion to donate to the auction. Items can be donated in advance or you can bring them with you when you come to the event. All money raised will benefit Greyhounds Only to bring more of these magnificent animals to their forever homes.
Grey Oaks Photography
Grey Oaks Pet-ography to Offer On-Site Hound and Family Portraiture! Grey Oaks Pet-ography is a Madison, Wisconsin boutique portrait studio specializing in the celebration of canine companions in one's family. The studio will be onsite at the Reunion, offering portrait packages of your lovable Greyhound and optionally the human family members, too! The photographers spend time to establish a personalized, custom portrait for each session by choosing the specific poses they'd like, and the product is mailed to your home. Session times can be reserved in advance, so no standing in lines, your time is reserved just for you! Grey Oaks Pet-ography is honored to donate 20% of their Reunion proceeds to Greyhounds Only. If you would like to reserve your spot, email reunion volunteer Chad Pierson at email@example.com.
Crowning the King and Queen
New this year, a King and Queen will be crowned. Yes, we will recognize the oldest male and female hound at the RAVE this year. Upon entering the event you will be asked for your hounds birthday. We will announce the King and Queen at 11 o'clock and each will have a coat befitting royalty to wear while at the RAVE. The coats are hand made and were graciously donated by Pam Hendrix. There is also a special take-home gift for the reigning couple. Let's celebrate our senior hounds!
Ever wonder how fast your greyhound can run? The radar run will be held outside, weather permitting, on a grassy, straight line, fenced-in course open to all greyhounds 7 years old or younger. Come visit the radar run to get a certificate of speed for your hound.
Also Nail Clipping and Doggy Day Care ... more info to come!
Also, for the safety and well being of your pups, please don’t leave them unattended in your vehicle.
Each admission ticket is $8 for adults and children 15 or older and includes 1 free raffle ticket. Online purchase of admission tickets is now closed, but tickets can still be purchased at the RAVE.
We have an exciting new food vendor to announce as well. Carrabba's Italian Grill has graciously offered to support GO with the following delicious menu for only $6 a plate:
- Chicken Marsala - At Carrabba's, we grill it to lock in the flavor. The chicken is topped with mushrooms, prosciutto and our delicious Lombardo Marsala wine sauce.
- Four Cheese Ravioli - tossed in homemade pomodoro sauce (vegetarian option)
- Cavatappi Amatriciana – spiral shaped pasta tossed in our amatriciana sauce of chopped tomatoes, pancetta, crushed red pepper and seasonings
- Boule Bread - a rustic loaf shape bread
We will also have on hand bottled water, Coke or Diet Coke to wash this wonderful meal down.
